1. Service Description
Briefing Layer provides premium AI intelligence platforms for regulated industries. Each subscription includes access to weekly briefings, a compliance-vetted tool directory, AI readiness scorecard, personal AI assistant, regulatory alerts, and related tools as described on the platform.
2. Subscription & Billing
Subscriptions are billed monthly via Stripe. A 14-day free trial is available. You may cancel at any time — access continues until the end of your current billing period. No refunds are issued for partial months.
3. Individual License
Each subscription is for one individual. You may not share your login credentials, subscriber token, or full edition content with others. Content forwarded via email is limited to the teaser excerpt. Per-subscriber watermarking is used to identify unauthorized distribution.
4. Content Ownership
All briefing content, analysis, and tool reviews are the intellectual property of Briefing Layer. Content generated for you by the platform (AI policies, board presentations, client content) is licensed for your use and may be shared under your firm's brand.
5. Not Professional Advice
Briefing Layer content is for informational purposes only. It does not constitute legal, financial, compliance, investment, medical, or regulatory advice. The AI assistant provides information based on our curated knowledge base — always consult your compliance officer, legal counsel, or qualified professional for decisions affecting your practice.
6. Compliance Tool Ratings
Our Green/Yellow/Red compliance ratings represent our editorial assessment and do not constitute a formal compliance opinion. Regulatory requirements vary by jurisdiction, firm type, and use case. Always verify tool compliance with your own compliance team before deployment.
7. Referral Program
You may earn subscription credits by referring new subscribers. Credits are applied after the referred subscriber maintains an active subscription for 30 days. Maximum 3 referral credits per year. Briefing Layer reserves the right to modify or terminate the referral program at any time.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to: redistribute full edition content, attempt to circumvent content protection mechanisms, abuse the AI assistant with excessive or malicious queries, use automated tools to scrape content, or impersonate other subscribers.
9. Limitation of Liability
Briefing Layer is provided "as is." We are not liable for decisions made based on our content, tool recommendations, or AI assistant responses. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for your subscription in the 12 months preceding any claim.
10. AI Certification Credential
The Briefing Layer AI Practitioner credential is an educational assessment of AI knowledge in the context of regulated industries. It is not a professional license, regulatory certification, or substitute for industry-specific credentials. It does not authorize the holder to provide professional advice. CLE/CE credit eligibility should be verified with your licensing body. Briefing Layer makes no representations regarding recognition by any regulatory body, licensing board, or employer.
11. Content Watermarking & Monitoring
Edition content includes invisible per-subscriber watermarks for leak detection. We monitor content access patterns (including IP addresses and device information) to identify unauthorized distribution. By subscribing, you acknowledge and consent to content watermarking and access monitoring as described in our Privacy Policy.
12. Community Guidelines
Questions and answers posted in the peer community are AI-moderated and may be removed without notice if they contain client names, specific investment/legal/medical advice, personally identifiable information, or content that violates professional ethics rules. You retain ownership of your community contributions but grant Briefing Layer a license to display and distribute them within the platform.
13. Refund Policy
No refunds are issued for partial months of service. If you cancel, your access continues until the end of your current billing period. For disputes, contact billing@briefinglayer.ai within 30 days of the charge.
14. Age Requirement
You must be at least 18 years old to use Briefing Layer. By subscribing, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age.
15. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Briefing Layer, its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the platform, violation of these terms, or distribution of AI-generated content under your brand.
16. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from these terms will be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. You agree to waive your right to a jury trial. Arbitration shall take place in the state of the platform operator's principal place of business. Small claims court actions are exempt from this arbitration requirement.
17. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of [YOUR STATE], without regard to conflict of law principles.
18. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms with 30 days' notice via email. Continued use after the notice period constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
